On 1st October 2014 there were major changes implemented when the Petroleum (Consolidation) Regulations 2014 came into force. Previously the rules around selling petrol were contained within a set of conditions attached to the Petroleum Licence. The new regulations now contain two specific offences in relation to under age sales:
Both these new offences carry an unlimited fine in the magistrates court. In addition to the age restrictions for petrol, you are also legally obliged to have a "written and regularly reviewed" Risk Assessment. For more information see our Health & Safety page. |
