Accredited Training in Preventing Under Age Sales

There are a broad range of available courses for staff involved in selling or providing age restricted goods or services. Some of these courses are targeted for specific trades and some are generic. Delivery methods - the courses can be delivered in different ways:

Classroom - delivered in a classroom by a qualified tutor. Your staff need to be released from work, courses usually have minimum numbers to proceed. 

 

Distance Learning - delivered by post to your staff. They will need time to complete the course but this can be done in the workplace. They may need your help with the course. 

 

E-Learning - delivered remotely over the internet. Your staff will need access to an internet connected PC with broadband and may have to install a special programme.

In Store - delivered in store by a qualified tutor. This can be done in the usual workplace, courses usually have minimum numbers to proceed. This can be done with accredited partners.

Award in Preventing Under Age Sales for Retail & Licensed Premises - This qualification incorporates a BTEC Level 2 in preventing under age sales and is aimed at learners working in the retail industry, like convenience stores, forecourts, kiosks, off-licences, hardware shops, fireworks retailers, supermarkets and general stores. It is awarded by EdExcel; the UK's largest awarding body and is recognised by the industry, local authorities and the police.

E-Learning Course in Age Verification - Age Verification is a mandatory policy that applies in relation to the sale or supply of alcohol. This course covers important topics such as what your age verification policy should include, the procedures of putting the policy into practise, acceptable forms of identification and how to deal with common conflict scenarios. Do You PASS? Fair Trading Award - The Fair Trading Award do you PASS? module comprises of a half day training course for small businesses. It focuses on the prevention of illegal underage sales with emphasis on the requirements of the law, diligence and proxy sales. This is not an accredited course.

This 1 day course for anyone working in a job role that requires them to authorise retail sales of alcohol in either on or off premises in Scotland.

HABC Level 2 Award in Underage Sales Prevention (QCF) - This regulated qualification is suitable for learners working in a variety of roles relating to retail or in licensed premises. It provides information on legislation relating to age-restricted products and how to prevent their unlawful sale.
